Square Sphere Segment Light, 2000

The spherical segment light, designed as the first flat, so-called surface-mounted luminaire for an office building, is still very popular in its original round shape. It is often chosen for its stability and weather resistance. For example, it can be found in many subway stations in Berlin. The spherical segment lamp with a square body made of cast aluminum and the luminaire made of opal high-impact polycarbonate represents a development of the time-tested round luminaire typology of lamps.
