Exhibition “da! Architecture in and from Berlin” with our residential building K111 in Herne

For the 24th time, members of the Berlin Chamber of Architects are showing outstanding projects in and from Berlin and around the world in the exhibition “da! Architecture in and from Berlin”, members of the Berlin Chamber of Architects are presenting outstanding projects in Berlin, throughout Germany and around the world. The selected 60 projects provide a broad overview of the large and small building tasks of Berlin chamber members.

The K111 residential building in Herne, completed by Kleihues + Kleihues in 2020, was selected by this year’s jury and shows once again how multifaceted and high-quality building can be done with clinker.

“The future of building lies in a new culture of conversion and further building. The works tell captivating stories of conversion and transformation, some spectacular, some very quiet, but all with their finger on the pulse of the times. (…) From the conversion of a stable building in the Hoher Fläming to a residential building to KfW 70 standard to the upgrading of existing structures from the 1990s for a company headquarters, which also incorporates the design of the outdoor facilities and allows them to be unsealed, there are many exciting examples that show that the important themes of conversion and further building have reached our clients,” says Theresa Keilhacker, President of the Berlin Chamber of Architects.

All projects are also published at www.ak-berlin.de/da-projekte and will be presented in the yearbook ARCHITEKTUR BERLIN | BUILDING BERLIN 12, which is published to accompany the exhibition.
Opening: 17 March 2023 | 7 pm with President Theresa Keilhacker and Wiebke Ahues, board member of the Berlin Chamber of Architects.
